Terms of use
Last updated: October 7, 2026
Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Matthew Lin, doing business as Specificity ("Specificity", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using Specificity, you agree to them, and to the privacy policy. If you use Specificity for an organization, you agree for it too, and you confirm you're allowed to. You must be 18 or older.
The service
Specificity is software for tracking work, owners and dependencies across teams, with optional AI tools. It's in early access, so features change and some may be added or removed. We don't charge for Specificity today. If that changes, we'll tell you before any charge applies, and you can stop using it.
Your account
Give accurate information and keep your email account secure, since sign-in codes go there. You're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
Your content
You own what you put in Specificity. You let us store it, process it, show it to the people you share it with, and send it to the AI tools you turn on, only to run Specificity for you. Work you add to a team is shared with that team and stays with it if you leave or delete your account, as the privacy policy describes. You're responsible for having the right to put your content in Specificity.
Rules for using Specificity
Don't:
- put patient information, other health information, Social Security numbers, payment card numbers or other sensitive identifiers in Specificity;
- break the law or anyone's rights, or use Specificity to harass, deceive or harm anyone;
- upload malware, or try to get into accounts, data or systems you aren't allowed into;
- get around limits, labels or permissions, including privacy mode and agent budgets;
- overload, scrape, copy, resell or reverse engineer Specificity;
- use the AI tools in ways Anthropic's Usage Policy forbids.
AI tools
AI tools are optional and send nothing until you choose AI on. Their output can be wrong or incomplete, so check it before you rely on it; what you do with it is up to you. Agents spend from a weekly budget for each person, and other AI features have limits to prevent abuse.
Other services
Specificity relies on Clerk, Replit, Anthropic and Google, as the privacy policy describes. Their services have their own terms, and we're not responsible for them.
Feedback
If you send ideas or feedback, we can use them without owing you anything.
Suspending or ending your use
You can stop using Specificity and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk, and we'll tell you why unless the law or someone's safety prevents it. If we stop offering Specificity, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice.
Disclaimers
Specificity is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we don't promise it will be error-free or always available.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, Specificity isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim about Specificity is limited to the greater of $100 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Indemnity
If your content, or your use of Specificity in breach of these terms, leads to a claim against us, you'll cover the reasonable costs of that claim.
Law and disputes
Wisconsin law governs these terms, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in Dane County, Wisconsin, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
We'll post changes here with a new date. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Using Specificity after that means you accept the change.
General
If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement about Specificity. We can transfer them if Specificity is sold or merged; you can't transfer them without our agreement.
